bronwyn's Journal  my realtor just submitted my bid for the house. wow. please cross your fingers! took a fall at work today and ended up getting an ambulance ride to the ER while strapped to a backboard with my head in a cervical collar. diagnosis: sprained neck. i left with hospital with painkillers and a headache. i am DONE with ER visits! 22 boxes of books and 2 boxes of games packed... 18 boxes of books packed.... next up: games and linins not being used. i am getting an early start on the packing as we will not move until the beginning of october. to oliver. he is one year old today. he still has his curly 'monkey' tail and he still sucks my fingers every night when i am falling asleep... he is all little boy cat. very active and into everything. he is constantly causing mischief of one kind or another... and then climbing into my lap purring like crazy. i am very glad he is a part of our family. 
one step closer to buying my own home..... i made a quick trip down to the Monterrey bay aquarium today. one of the weedy sea dragons had eggs on his tail and i was hoping to see them. no such luck. they all hatched early and none lived. the new open ocean exhibit opens july 1st. can't wait!!!! there is a five foot mola waiting to get put in! i am at a district committee meeting to work n the new report cards for the schools. all day with internet access! my students are not happy that i am out of the classroom though..... going to the san fransisco zoo today! should be a great trip....cool outside with some sun as well. there is a break in the rain so the animals should be very active. yay! i teacher i worked with died suddenly last weekend. George Flath was a third grade teacher at Hoover School in Palo Alto when i was there in 98-99-00 school years. i guess he moved to fifth a few years ago.... his "celebration of life" was today at the school. I saw many teachers i knew from back then and reconnected with them. i also saw a student, Elias, who is now a junior in high school. way back in kindergarten, i mentioned to his mom that Elias could sing. well. he had beautiful tone, pitch, and rhythm for a 5 year old. apparently his mom took what i said to heart and started him in lessons and such when he was in first grade. he is now considering a degree in music/voice and a professional career as a singer. wow. his mom told me today that my name is mentioned regularily in their house as the person who noticed his talent first! and the librarian at the school gave meaghan a book way back in second grade called mr. got to go about a cat in seatle. meaghan remembers the book to this day and who gave it to her. and it turns out that the librarian has seen meaghan in shows because..... her daughter was the director! and we never made the connection until today. a very sad day... but there was so much joy as well. |
